Business commerce:
Brahmanbaria also would not want to be believable to the people of this time that the best muslin was made at that time. The "Satestitical account of Bengal, Volume-6", W.W., Hunter, written in 1876, states that in the last quarter of the last century, the most beautiful muslin cloth was made of Sarail Tanezeb in Brahmanbaria. In the early part of the century, Akhaura, Ashuganj, Chandura were mentioned as "East Bengal Bengal District's Gympatier's Tippera", which was established by English businessmen Jute Baileying Center - (composition 1910 AD). Among the business centers of the district, Brahmanbaria Sadar City, Ashuganj, Akhaura, Fandauk, Chatlpar, Singerbill, Simna Bazar, Chandura, Chaiyakudi, Piseshwar, Satbarg, Nabinagar, Ajbpur, Ramchandrapur, Maniknagar, Kuti, Banchharampur are notable. Ramchandrapur's Lungi and Bancharampur have excellent clothes. There are many brick kilns lying beside the river Titas. In these brick kilns gas, coal and fuel wood burning bricks are meeting local demand.
Sutakal:
At the north end of the city of Brahmanbaria, there is a cotton table called Kokil Textile Mills at Medda village. Production started in January 1966. Currently the activities of this textile are closed.
BSCIC Industrial Estate:
There is a BSCIC industrial town in Nandanpur of Brahmanbaria sadar thana.
Silo: Ashugonj has a food grain silo. Besides, there are 6 food warehouses in different places of the district.
Cottage industries:
Cottage industries include bamboo and cane products, jute ropes and shika, wood furniture, gold ornaments, iron products and groundnut-kalas, basan-kusan are notable. But here on 30 January 1973, by the Deshasheshiar Chakkumar Vishvaranjan Sen of Gopalganj district, born in Matulal, Barisal Municipality, municipal village of Medina in the northern part of the district of Charka and Cottage industries. Depending on the aid of West Germany's Aid Bangladesh Committee, 60 thousand rupees, the organization started functioning on 20 December 1975, only 20 yarn cuttings. It has contributed significantly to the cottage industry of the country through the help of the founder's relentless efforts and relief ministries, the World Division, Ramkrishna Mission, TEREDES HOMES and BSCIC, with the help of various government and non-governmental foreign and foreign organizations. It has 52 handlooms, 50 houses including 75 bamboo charka, 60 amber charka and 60 tube-wells in the house of employees. There are several sewing machines and color printing system. There are 219 workers in the care of Day Care nurses and others. There is also the arrangement for dummy and brick breaking work as a means of providing food to poor employees irrespective of men and women. Arrangements are also provided to the children of the children in letters of knowledge. The most notable aspect of this great company is that the employees here are trained here. Charka and Cottage industries established on 32 acres of land are manufactured in USA, cloths, coats, bed sheets, bed covers, screen cloths, tablecloths, towels, lungis and towels, and there are also sales centers in these fabrics. Some of the high quality fabrics are exported to the industrialized countries like New Zealand and West Germany, beyond the limits of the country.
Radhika Hat:
The hat industry is also famous for its praise. The village Radhika of Sadar thana, five miles south of Brahmanbaria town, has achieved a specialty in the work of its residents. For more than 200 years, many over 100 families of these villages have been able to produce hatched deafs and jute wicker fiber.They have been engaged in four months of the year. Besides, this artwork has also been expanded in the Medha, Bhadughar, Jagatjara, Hublauchchand and Chanpur villages of Brahmanbaria Sadar thana, passing through small villages of Radhika village.
Thermal Power
Ashuganj Thermal Power Station is located on the bank of the river Meghna. The size of the power plant is 311 acres. This power plant was built with financial assistance from West Germany. The construction of the buildings started from May 1966. Beginning in late 1968, the work of establishing original equipment was started. The first unit was launched on July 27, 1970 and the second on 11th August. The capacity of both the units is 6400 MW. During the establishment of the center, these units were given capacity to supply 100 megawatt of power. In the second phase, there was an arrangement of about 200 megawatt expansion in an additional unit.
After the independence of the country, the demand for electricity has increased rapidly. In order to meet this demand Ashuganj power plant is decided in the second five-year plan. The World Bank promises financial support and advises to set up two new units of each 150 MW capacity. Later, due to some money borrowed from the establishment of 3rd and 4th unit, the power development board decides to set up another unit of the same capacity
The work of 3rd and 4th unit was started in March 1984 and the work of 5th began in November 1985. Three of these units were launched in the month of December, 1986, May of 1986 and March of 88 respectively. At present, the production capacity of Ashuganj power plant is 724 MW. The natural gas obtained from the Titas gas field is used as fuel for both the type and gas turbines.
Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory
Ashuganj Fertilizer Company Limited is the second largest factory in the country's fertilizer factories. It is a sophisticated fertilizer factory located on the eastern bank of the river Meghna in Ashuganj in Brahmanbaria district. Considering the availability of gas, the availability of gas from the Titas gas of Brahmanbaria Titus gas, and the convenience of transportation and transportation to the rail, road and river with the whole country, the government has selected Ashuganj to build the factory. n order to implement the factory, the government formed a company named Ashuganj Fertilizer & Chemical Company Limited under the Ministry of Industries in October 1974. On 1 December 1983, the factory was handed over to the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation.
The construction work of the factory was scheduled to begin in 1976. But due to soil complexity and some other accessories problems, delay is about two years to start construction. The actual construction work of the factory started in 1978 and the production started in the factory in 1981.

The factories and building materials from the UK, USA, Japan, Italy, West Germany, France, India, Austria, Switzerland and Canada have been brought from many countries of the world. During the construction, about 8,000 (eight thousand) people daily work, including about 200 foreign workers.
The World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, is responsible for the International Development Agency in the United States, KFW (Germany), Overseas Development Ministry (UK), Iran, Switzerland, IFAD, OPEC and the EEC project. The factory was built at a cost of Taka 350.18 crores with the total amount of Taka 757.74 crores.
Daily production capacity of production power plant is 1600 metric tons urea and 930 metricon ammonia. Annual production capacity 5,28,000 metric tons urea
Footwear
factory of Shilbrahmanbaria district has developed small industries of shoes industry from Madhyapara to Pirbari area, which is supplied to different parts of the country even after meeting the needs of the people of this region. In these industrial factories, due to the creation of the employment of the people of this region, the problem of unemployment is being solved on one hand and skilled manpower is being developed on the other side. If this potential industry is needed, it will expand in a broader range in the future.
